Why the move?

The rationale for this move is twofold:

• Slack is a good short term forum, but is neither searchable nor well indexed, so it does not create reusable answers.
• We have a much larger number of Github Issues than our team has capacity to deal with. Discussions allows us to monitor for popular requests and engage on them.
