Allow easier annotation of diff ouputs

Hi,

Is is possible to build an additional function to do annotation of diffdf outputs? We have something internally at GSK that wraps around the diffdf function that allows for more annotation of outputs. This is nice when data is incomplete and you need to put some messaging around the outputs.

Thanks for raising this. Such a feature is in the works though unfortunately development on this project has stalled due to competing demands :( A prototype of the feature is available on the v2 branch. I hope at some point @kieranjmartin and I can find some time to get the feature finished and merged into prod.

Maybe we can start to leverage pharmaverse resources to get v2 out the door and make additional enhancements if needed?

Just wanted to say that we are planning a minor overhaul of the package in Q4 so will hope to address this then.

I appreciate this is 2 years on but I've finally got around to putting together some initial code and a example of how I think we could implement this sort of feature into diffdf here if you have any feedback it would be appreciated !
