I've tried --max-parallel instead of creating a batch file and the formatting it's a sort of mess. :)

It keeps on updating while scrolling:

Use progress bars, they will update in place. However, you can't be sure they will stay ordered.

Lets say you run 5 jobs in parallel with different runtimes:

1. file1: 10 minutes
2. file2: 3 minutes
3. file3: 14 minutes
4. file4: 1 minutes
5. file5: 2 minutes

You use a command like ... --max-parallel 3 .... Initially it's going to load up the first 3 files in order. But once file2 completes (since it's only 3 minutes duration) the worker will pick up number 4. So then you'll have 1, 2, 4 etc. It's really not worth the effort to attempt to keep them in order and might not even be possible easily on some terminals. The best way to keep them looking a bit nicer is to use progress bars. Otherwise a full TUI would need be coded up for this and I don't think that effort would be justified. Terminals aren't designed for this, with TUIs or hacky work arounds you can make them do things they aren't supposed to.

Hmm, I'll take a look at this later. It's possible I disabled progress bars due to the added complexities actually. I'll look at this and do some thinking on it later.
