Delay on startup

Thanks for the program first off.
I noticed that the shader doesn't start for a few seconds after my hyprland session has loaded which is kind of annoying.

I'm starting it by adding this to my hyprland.conf (after starting hyprsunset) :
exec-once = nerdshade -loop

Is this the recommended way to do this?

Your config looks OK to me. I use this:

exec-once = nerdshade -loop -tempNight 4200 &

but I don't see immediately why that would make a difference. Perhaps you are starting it very late?

You can start hyprland without nerdshade and then run it manually (e. g. nerdshade -gammaDay 50 -gammaNight 50 to see a clear effect). Loop mode or not shouldn't matter.

Normal would be that the gamma changes to the desired value with no noticable delay.

I just restarted my wayland session (which I do not do often enough it seems) and I think I know what you mean now. I can't tell currently if this is something that could be changed in nerdshade, but I'll have a closer look.
