You will find here all the information gathered during the silverduino development about Silver Reed SK-840 machine.

Hardware description

The SK-840 communicates with the outside world using DIN 45329/IEC 10 (7-pin at 45°) connector. Its pinout is as follows:

  • pin 1 - ND1 - NEEDLE-1 - signals presence of needle 1 marker with LOW state
  • pin 2 - KSL - POINT CAMS - signals carriage being within point cams with HIGH state
  • pin 3 - DOB - DATA OUT BUFFER - signal selecting a needle - HIGH activates solenoid
  • pin 4 - CCP - CARRIAGE CLOCK PULSE - signals a new needle as the carriage moves across the bed and serves as the 'clock' signal when RAISING
  • pin 5 - HOK - CARRIAGE DIRECTION - signals carriage direction - LOW going right
  • pin 6 - 16V - power driving solenoids
  • pin 7 - 5V - power driving electronics
  • pin 8 (shield) - GND - groud

All signals are +5V.
