The goal of this project is to convert a big word document into a well-organized static website. It is a mishmash of Node, Python, and great heaping spoonfuls of HTML.
The Roadmap to Reentry is a rich body of information that increases access to justice and opportunity for people in reentry from prison and jail, and to educate and empower those who support them. It's stuck in PDF form, and should be usable and searchable on the web.
This is a project of Root & Rebound with help from people at Code for San Francisco, Optimizely, and other volunteers. Ben Golder is the point person for coordinating this project.
- Help us use Python and BeautifulSoup to parse and organize the tables of content from each chapter into distinct chunks of content that we can use in multiple places.
- Help write CSS and HTML to create mobile-friendly and accessible navigation for a large, content-heavy website.
- Help us figure out the easiest way to add a usable front-end search function.
- Help us look for opportunities to improve our HTML to make it more accessible and semantically correct.
